Celebrating a decade of India’s ‘Act East Policy’ and the comprehensive strategic partnership between ASEAN and India, the ASEAN-India Music Festival is heading to Bangkok for its exciting second leg! Organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with SEHER, the event will take place at Volume Livehouse, Street Ratchada, with FREE ENTRY for all, on December 9, 2024, starting at 7 PM.

The Bangkok edition builds on the resounding success of the festival’s first leg, held at the iconic Purana Qila in New Delhi from 29 November to 01 December 2024. Drawing over 20,000 attendees in 3 days, the New Delhi chapter featured 10 bands from the ASEAN Member States and 5 from India, including big names like Shaan, Raghu Dixit, Jasleen Royal, and singer duo Sukriti-Prakriti, among others, enthralling audiences with performances that celebrated the deep cultural and civilizational bonds between the two regions. Inaugurated by Minister of State for External Affairs Shri Pabitra Margherita, the festival underlined India’s commitment to building people-to-people connections as part of the broader vision of the ‘Act East Policy.’

The second leg will feature four incredible performances, blending musical traditions from ASEAN and India. Attendees will witness the fusion of diverse styles with ASEAN Collab Bands, uniting artists from across ASEAN countries, alongside the soulful sounds of the Western Ghats from India and the vibrant energy of Television Off from Thailand.

Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder Director of SEHER, remarked, “The ASEAN-India Music Festival is more than just performances; it’s about the way music can bring people together. The overwhelming response to the first leg in New Delhi highlighted the power of music in celebrating our shared heritage and cultural ties. In Bangkok, we’re building on this success to create a space where diverse musical traditions of ASEAN and India come together to form something truly memorable. Our goal is for this event to do more than entertain; we want it to inspire a deeper connection and understanding of the cultural ties that link us all as a region.”

The ASEAN-India Music Festival is a symphony of shared heritage, where melodies serve as bridges, strengthening the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Reflecting India’s ‘Act East Policy’, it transcends music to nurture meaningful connections, driving collaboration through culture, trade, and vibrant interpersonal exchanges.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of music, unity, and celebration on December 9, 2024, at Volume Livehouse, Street Ratchada.
